Walter Herrmann – 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists. (3 of 4 3pt attempts)
The stats themselves are nothing special, but Herrmann’s 23 minutes off the bench are an interesting development for the Pistons. Herrmann showed a lot of potential with the Bobcats, but their mind-blowing incompetence meant that they never fully utilized the versatile and hard-working forward. Now he’s proving his value, getting more minutes than Antonio McDyess, hitting threes, and solidfying his role as a key reserve and offensive spark for Detroit.
Here’s hoping that Herrmann’s early success holds up, given the tough times he has been through in the past few years, few NBA players deserve it as much as he does.
